Helping Mamas and Babies

Doula is the Greek word for "woman servant".  The role of a doula is to provide emotional and physical support to a mother during her pregnancy, her baby's birth, and/or during the postpartum period.  Studies show that having a doula's support tends to result in shorter labors and fewer complications; and the parents feel more secure and cared for during this special time.

Women should be enabled to give birth to healthy babies in a normal, safe, and satisfying way in the place of their choice.  I want to be there to support and encourage you during labor.  I want to listen to and respect your needs in a quiet, supportive role as well as be able to instill confidence in you and your family during this time.  I want to be there for you and minister to you as needed so that this special time in your family’s life can be a joyful one.

The role of a postpartum doula varies, depending on the family’s wants and needs.  It’s very important to serve in a non-judgmental way.  I’m here to serve your family in the best way that I can.  Good communication is very important.

I have had the pleasure of helping many women during the birth and postpartum period.  This is a blessing for me because I have always had a servant’s heart.  This is such a special time and I am honored to help in any way that I can.

This is your Sacred Time!

The length of time that I serve postpartum families depends on the need and may be determined and agreed upon as we go.

I am currently serving the greater Charlotte area, Union County, Anson County, and upper South Carolina.
